Master’s students receive graduate research awards

Two Richard and Loan Hill Department of Biomedical Engineering dual-degree master’s students  received  Awards for Graduate Research from the university. This award funds research travel, summer research stipend, and materials/supplies.

Mario Raspanti plans to use the award to purchase supplies for his summer research activities, including culture media, cells, and reagents. Meanwhile, Chiara Ghera intends to use the funds from her award to cover the costs of experiments to validate the ideas and models of heteroclinic orbits.

Ghera and Raspanti are part of the dual degree master’s program between UIC and Politecnico di Milano in Italy.

They work in Richard and Loan Hill Professor Ian Papautsky’s lab.
