Department hosts Bioengineering Industry Day 2019

The Richard and Loan Hill Department of Bioengineering hosted 21 professional bioengineers from across a diverse range of industries on Oct. 25, as part of the department’s Bioengineering Industry Day 2019.
The learning and networking event ran from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Cardinal Room in Student Center East at 750 S. Halsted St. and gave 120 current bioengineering students a chance to connect with alumni and other professional partners.
The engineers are currently employed at a variety of companies and organizations, including Abbott Laboratories, Medline Industries, the Federal Drug Administration, Hollister Incorporated, Medical College of Wisconsin, Pfizer, Styrker, and many others.
This year’s experts included 19 UIC alumni. The professionals in attendance ranged from CEOs, R&D engineers, medical device specialists, operations project managers, biomedical solutions specialists, and more.
The students who attended were able to rotate through the industry partners during an hour and a half of roundtable chats. The event concluded with an hour of open networking time and refreshments.
