Title: How I Got to be a Data Scientist with a Bioengineering Degree

Bio: Farnaz Abdollahi is a seasoned data science leader with extensive expertise in big data, telemetry, and statistical analysis. As a Data Scientist at Intel Corporation, she has driven impactful projects, including developing analytics pipelines for thousands of users, patenting a novel model for PC user experience degradation detection, and leading GenAI chatbot telemetry initiatives. With a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois Chicago, Farnaz has a strong research background in human-machine interaction. Passionate about mentorship, inclusion, and innovation, she actively fosters professional growth within technical teams. She currently serves as the IEEE Women in Engineering Chicago Chair for 2025, championing diversity and empowerment in STEM.
