Title: Imaging Biological States from Label-Free Tissue Mapping to Nanoscale Spatial Organization

Abstract: Biological states emerge from organization across spatial scales, from tissue architecture and cellular morphology to the nanoscale arrangement of molecular complexes. However, no single imaging modality can capture this full range with the resolution, molecular specificity, throughput, and field of view required for biological discovery and clinical translation. In this talk, I will present our development of multiscale and multimodal imaging technologies that combine quantitative phase imaging, multiplexed fluorescence microscopy, and single-molecule localization microscopy to characterize biological states across these complementary scales. Applications in cancer and inflammatory disease will illustrate how multiscale imaging can connect tissue phenotypes with cellular and molecular mechanisms. Together, these approaches establish a path toward scalable imaging systems that move beyond visualizing biological structures to quantitatively measuring and predicting biological states.
