BME Philanthropic Fund programs

UIC Bioengineering Unrestricted Fund

This fund supports the educational, research and service missions of the UIC Biomedical Engineering department. It is used at the Department Head’s discretion in compliance with all university rules and regulations.
Jie Liang Scientific Excellence Memorial Fund

This fund, established by his family in loving memory of Professor Jie Liang, supports graduate scholarships for PhD students in bioinformatics, speaker/seminar series on the topic of bioinformatics research.
UIC Biomedical Engineering Study Abroad Fund

This fund provides scholarship support to students in need so they can participate in enriching undergraduate study abroad programs that will count toward their BME degree at UIC.
UIC Richard S. and Loan B. Hill Endowment

This fund, established by alumnus Richard Hill, and his wife, Loan, supports the endowment of chairs, professorships and fellowships, as well as provides support for other initiatives as they arise.
Bert l. Zuber Biomedical Engineering

This fund, established in loving memory by the family of Prof. Bert Zuber. A founding member of the BME program. Supports Senior Design prototype solutions to improve healthcare in internal and external competitions.
