Students who join the Richard and Loan Hill Department of Biomedical Engineering complete their work where technology and biology meet. Our students help improve quality of life by developing innovative technologies to diagnose and treat illnesses and expanding the boundaries of what living organisms can do. The department is home to rising and established world leaders in biomedical engineering and bioinformatics. The BME department takes extraordinary pride in the accomplishments of its faculty scholars and in its role in training the next generation: our undergraduate and graduate students. The biomedical engineering department at UIC is one of the oldest programs in the country and has a diverse student population and faculty. Chicago is where you will rise.
